The entrance to the gallery on Canada Games Way has a ramp with a handrail located on the right side.
There are 2 sets of power doors before entering the lobby. The power door button is located to the right side of the doors. Both sets of doors have pull handles.
Backpacks and large purses are not allowed in the gallery. The front of house staff can store these items behind the reception desk for you.
Our front of house staff will welcome you at the Visitor Service Desk in the lobby directly across from the entrance. They are available to answer any questions.
There is a coat rack room located next to the bathrooms in the lobby area.
It is recommended to bring a jacket in case you feel cold in the gallery, especially in the winter. If you decide that the temperature is fine and you don’t want to carry your jacket with you throughout your visit, you can leave your jacket in the coat rack room.
All our washrooms are open to the public and are gender-neutral.
There are 2 washrooms on the main floor. The main floor washrooms are directly past the Visitor Service Desk and the gallery shop.
The main floor washroom has 3 stalls, 2 sinks, and 1 towel dispenser.
There is one (1) accessible stall with metal grab bars in this washroom.
This washroom has a diaper changing station.
There are 3 exhibition spaces.
Occasionally, there will be some noises in the galleries with films playing without headphones or school groups exploring the gallery. The galleries can also contain some bright lights.
There are often benches without backs or armrests located throughout the exhibition spaces to offer you a chance to rest.
The Learning & Engagement space is located on the 2nd floor.
This space is not always open to the public. If it is open or you are attending a program, you can take either the stairs or the elevator to this space.
This play area for kids is located at the end of the Atrium on the second floor, beside the door to access The Sculpture Court.
This family-friendly space is open to all but mainly geared towards children. It is filled with creative books, building and sculpting toys, a light table, and other activities that encourage curiosity, exploration and learning through play.
Exhibitions tours are free and happen every 2nd Sunday of the month from 1pm to 2pm.
These tours are led by exhibition facilitators and present opportunities for exploration and questions.
The tours are interactive so the facilitators may ask questions about your thoughts and feelings around artworks, but speak up only when you want to.
No food or drinks in the exhibition spaces. An accessible water fountain is available on the second floor directly next to the elevator and set of stairs. Please check in with the front desk visitor representative for some close-by restaurant suggestions around downtown Prince George.
When entering the gallery, there is a seating space to the left. Seating in this lounge space includes a number of stools and a couch with arms. There are a number of wooden armless and backless benches located in the exhibition spaces. Upstairs in the Wild Side and programming space, there are many stools.
Service animals are welcome at the gallery. There are outdoor green spaces for service animals surrounding the entire building, including two steps outside of the front entrance. There is also a water bowl offered outside of the gallery during the summer season.
Access to exhibitions is free everyday, although donations appreciated.
We offer a complimentary Individual Memberships for Indigenous Peoples.
Please be aware that the gallery does not have a scent policy at this time. Scented products are currently being used for the washroom soap and as cleaning products.
There is no specific room for individuals who get overstimulated at the gallery. A suggestion is to head to the lounge next to the lobby, as it offers a seated area that is usually not occupied.
