For over nine thousand years, the Lheidli T’enneh, people from the confluence of the rivers, inhabited and cared for Lheidli Keyoh, the territory in and around what Twentieth Century settlers call Prince George, Salmon Valley, Hixon McBride and Valemount. The Lheidli T’enneh carry on specialized skills and knowledge necessary to thrive on and around the Nechako and Fraser Rivers. This exhibition, guest-curated by Lheidli artists Kym Gouchie and Jennifer Pighin in collaboration with community knowledge holders, explores aspects of Lheidli T’enneh knowledge, skills, creativity, history present day reflections, and visions for the future.
