Super Natural Haute Couture

Super Natural Haute Couture features high-fashion inspired dresses and suits by local artist Roanne Whitticase, who constructs her garments using organic material such as moss, branches, bark, and leaves. With this body of work, Whitticase turns the notion of high fashion on its head, introducing materials that would normally not exist on the runways of Paris and London. Through this exhibition, Whitticase’s work prompts us to think about clothing and the fashion industry in new ways, as well as reflect on our surroundings, our presence in the natural world and our influence upon it.
