Knock Knock: Art, Humour and Meaning

February 2, 2024
April 7, 2024
Two words that set the stage for a certain kind of joke, Knock Knock, establish the idea of a closed door and the possibility of it being opened following an often funny exchange. The work gathered for this exhibition by Ken Lum, Diana Thorneycroft, Wei Li, Brendan Tang and Jin-me Yoon employ humour similarly as a tool that opens a door to deeper conversations. For these artists, humour paves the way to tackle issues of identity, environment and other important concerns.
