Gathering: A Retrospective in a Changing Landscape

February 7, 2020
July 10, 2020
Vanderhoof based artist Annerose Georgeson has made the forest around her home a primary focus of her practice for the last two decades. This retrospective exhibition looks at Georgesonโ€™s work over this time, tracing her journey through photography and drawing, mixed media and collage-based work, to painting in a variety of mediums. Not only does this body of work define the trajectory of the artistโ€™s own development, but serves as a remarkable document of changes to the forest and the land brought by the mountain pine beetle, logging operations, and forest fire. Reflecting these events over a sustained period of time, Georgeson captures the resilience and power of nature to emerge as a singular artistic voice in North Central BC.
