2017 MakerLab Youth Immersion

September 14, 2017
October 22, 2017
MakerLab Youth Immersion is a ten-month program that engages youth in active learning of new skills and technologies. Twelve youth, ages 15 – 20, half of whom self-identify as Indigenous, were mentored from September through June. During the first seven months of the program the youth were taught by local artists, Elders, craftspeople, and Makers. They completed modules in Northwest Coast design, carving, wood turning, drum making, silver clay, 3D printing, laser engraving, and fine arts. This annual exhibition celebrates the hard work and dedication of both the youth and mentors who make this program possible.
