Families, friends, couples, singles... drop by the Gallery and get creative. Each week introduces a new project and another opportunity for you to express yourself and get hands on with all kinds of art!

Our Sunday Open Studio sessions are a creative way to spend time making interesting and unique art projects.

Drop in from 1:00pm to 4:00pm on Sundays!

Admission is $8.00 for individuals and $15.50 for families.

February 18 – Interesting Insects
Make your own inspiring insects out of wire and embossing foil.

February 25 – Silhouette Portraits
Explore all sides of yourself and create two unique self-portraits to bring home.

March 4 – Toothpick Sculptures
Take a walk around the Fences exhibition in the South Canfor Gallery, looking closely at Lori Goldberg’s Protection Zone. Join us upstairs to make your own small maquette out of toothpicks.

March 11 – Mobile Mania
This Sunday we are making decorative mobiles. Use your imagination to create a moving artwork.

March 18 – Pattern Play
Join us while we experiment with print making by using all sorts of found materials. What will you create?

March 25 – Black Light Painting
Be inspired by Mitchell Wiebe’s surreal paintings of unicorns, rainbows, and other figures on display in Bad Magic in the North Canfor Gallery and paint your own whimsical scenes with black light accents.

April 1 – Easter Collage
Today we’ll be making our own Easter collages with scrapbooking paper, and wallpaper samples.  

April 8 – Ripped Word Poems
April is poetry month! To rejoice we will be making our own mixed media poems.

April 15 – Agamographs
Try making your own agamograph – a fun drawing that changes depending on the angle you view it from!

April 22 – Painting with Nature
This Earth Day we will be making our own unconventional paint brushes with things found in nature and seeing the different marks that they make.  

April 29 – Paint Spill Portraits
Let’s spill some paint and see what we can turn it into!

May 6 – Oil Pastel Sketches
Check out the oil sketches in the Lawren Harris:Canadian Visionary exhibition in the South Canfor Gallery and then make your own oil pastel sketches inspired by this famous Canadian artist.

May 13 – String Art
Join us to make some string art greeting cards. A perfect last minute Mother’s Day card!

May 20 – Stick Bombs
Weave together some sticks to create your own stick bombs – there are lots of designs to explore!

May 27 – Ancient Artifacts
Use clay and plaster of Paris to design your own little artifacts.
