Then you would make a fantastic addition to our current team of docents! Docents attend weekly information meetings/training sessions and are asked to volunteer to lead about 4 tours a month.
Please e-mail Twyla Exner, Director of Public Programs or call her at 250.614.7804 for more information.
The word docent originates from the Latin verb "docere" which means to instruct, teach, or inform. At Two Rivers Gallery, docents work as volunteer guides, escorting school and public tours through the Gallery.
Each Thursday from 10:30am to 12:00 noon for informational meetings relating to the artists and art on display, as well as informative movies, lectures, artists' talks, and a chance to learn from and meet great people! (If you cannot attend the weekly meeting but would still like to volunteer, special arrangements can be made.)
Docents have the opportunity to lead a 2 hour tour approximately 2-4 times per month

Each tour takes approximately one-and-one-half hours. Docents prepare for upcoming tours, lead the tours and the hands-on activity, and help with clean-up.
Public Tours: Usually adult groups, the Gallery offers a Gallery tour of the exhibitions and building. Each tour takes approximately one hour.
Not at all! The Gallery provides all the training necessary to lead the tours. Your training will include instruction about:
