Working with the Carrier-Sekani Tribal Council, the Native Art Gallery, UNBC and members of the Dakelh community – the First Nations group indigenous to the Prince George area – the Prince George Art Gallery will investigate the above question. As Northwest Coast style imagery pervades the work of local artists, a clear sense of Dakelh aesthetic is difficult to identify. This exhibition attempts to identify whether such an aesthetic exists, and if so what is it?
