The Prince George and Area Aboriginal Health Improvement Committee (AHIC) would like to acknowledge the Lheidli T’enneh Nation through a welcome sign to be displayed in the University Hospital of Northern BC (UHNBC) and other health facilities operating within the traditional territory. The welcome sign in Carrier will offer a learning experience to non-Indigenous people and provide presence of Indigenous inclusion in health care facilities that can be a source of comfort for Indigenous patients and visitors of health care.
In communities across the province, AHICs develop local initiatives to engage in dialogue with health service providers and Northern Health, providing advice and guidance on an array of concerns and issues faced in their respective communities. The committee will take photos of the finished work, to be displayed in other care sites and facilities across the city.
The deadline for submissions is March 20. For more details, contact Julia Petrasek MacDonald at 250-565-7338 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Click the link below to download the application form.
